Packing - This is as much part of the ‘art’ of successfully producing large ceramic murals as the clay work and the glazing. Tiles are packed in a well-planned and logical manner to allow installation to commence wherever site conditions determine. Measurements, reference grid lines, full sized plastic templates (useful for positioning and checking sizes before commencing), factory photographs and comprehensive packing details are supplied with the work. This is as much part of the ‘art’ of successfully producing large ceramic murals as the clay work and the glazing. Tiles are packed in a well-planned and logical manner to allow installation to commence wherever site conditions determine. Measurements, reference grid lines, full-sized plastic templates (useful for positioning and checking sizes before commencing), factory photographs and comprehensive packing details are supplied with the work. Purpose made timber crates house the ceramics, which are sandwiched between foam and polystyrene sheets in a carefully planned manner to ensure ease of installation (much of the packing material is used on-site for cleaning or protection). Crates are strapped to pallets suitable for road, sea or air and all necessary documents accompany the consignment. Although installation requires a sensitivity that these tiles are handmade, the techniques and materials necessary for installation are much the same as for standard ceramic installation. Tile adhesive will be selected to suit the circumstances (e.g. thin set cement mortar adhesive for most cast or shot pools – epoxy for others). Grout will be waterproof and coloured blue or sand to allow the cut lines to ‘sit-back’ in the design. Completion - At Craig Bragdy we take immense pride and satisfaction with each job completed to our self imposed, high standards of technical expertise and craftsmanship. And upon completion, when possible, we take pleasure in standing with the client to inspect the work and ensure his/her total satisfaction. Design Manufacture
